Hu Zhiguang Attended “Rejuvenate China COFA Forum” and Went to Northeast China for an Investigation with COFA Delegation 2004/7/18
From July 11 to 18, 2004, Mr. Hu Zhiguang, executive director of China 0verseas Friendship Association (COFA), chairman of the DCCC, went to China to join the COFA delegation for an investigation to Liaoning, Jilin and Heilongjiang, the three provinces in northeast China. The delegation mainly consisted of members from Hong Kong, Macao and foreign countries. Some other European Chinese leaders also joined the delegation, they are: Mr. Bi Chuanyou, chairman of Stichting LFCON, Mr. Yang Ming, chairman of Association Pour La Paix Et La Reunification De La Chine, Mr. Xu Jianfei, executive chairman of the General Assembly of Overseas Chinese in Barcelona, Mr. Dong Zhiqing, honorary chairman of the General Assembly of Overseas Chinese in Roma, board chairman of Italian Shenzhou Medicine Center, Mr. Xu Songhua, chairman of Asociacion de Chinos en Espana, board chairman of China Trade corp. in Spain, Mr. Chen Shunyuan, honorary chairman of Amicale Des Teochew En France, board chairman of France Jiahua corp.
This “Rejuvenate China COFA Forum”, also named as “Strategy Searching Conference for the Rejuvenation of Old Industrial Bases in Northeast China”, was held by China 0verseas Friendship Association and government of Liaoning province. Cheng Siwei, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, chairman of Central Committee of China Democratic National Construction Association, Liu Yandong, chairman of United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee, chairman of COFA, Zhou Tienong, vice chairman of the CPPCC, executive vice chairman of the Central Committee of Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang, vice chairman of COFA, Huang Mengfu, vice chairman of the CPPCC, chairman of China Association of Industry and Commerce, and other leaders presented the forum. After theme reports were made by leaders from related departments, the delegation led by Zhou Tienong, vice chairman of COFA, went to northeast China for a ten days’visit.
In Dalian, Liaoning province, the delegation visited female ranger base, Dalian Hoisting Group, Dalian Beiliang Ltd.; in Changchun city of Jilin province, the delegation investigated China First Automobile Group, Changchun exhibition center and Jingyuetan traveling and economic development zone; in Mudanjiang city of Heilongjiang province, it toured Jingbohu beauty spot and Diaoshuilou waterfall spot; at last, the delegation went to Harbin, members of the delegation visited Harbin Aircraft Industry Group and Sun Island, then attended a project recommendation meeting on the old industrial bases alteration and state-owned enterprises’reform on property right system.
