Consultant of the DCCC, Chinese Dutch Politician He Tiansong Run for European Councilor 2004/4/17
Consultant of the DCCC, Chinese Dutch politician, mayor of Venhuizen, He Tiansong decided to participate in the incoming European parliament election and run for European Councilor.
Chairman of the DCCC, the famous overseas Chinese leader, Mr. Hu Zhiguang and some other leaders such as Bi Chuanyou and Yang Huagen launched and organized jointly a campaign group for He Tiansong. The group made a series of plans to serve for Mr. He’s election, these plans included illustrating the importance of the European parliament election through different media, introducing Mr. He Tiansong himself, organizing campaign address and holding colloquia.
From this week, the campaign group began to deliverer campaign posters of He Tiansong to electors, introduce vote procedure for the European parliament election, illustrate the importance of voting for He Tiansong and found a campaign committee formed by 200-300 big names in the overseas Chinese circles. At the beginning of May, the group would hold fundraising banquet for Mr. He ‘s election.
The campaign group also appealed to all overseas Chinese in the Netherlands for throwing up personal preference and partisanship, supporting He Tiansong in the election, thus enhancing the influence of overseas Chinese in the Netherlands and showed great solidarity and importance of Chinese society to Dutch government and people.
At present, He Tiansong had been the 20th candidate in the Christen-Democratisch Appel’s election list. Mr. He showed his appreciation to supports from the Chinese society and expressed that if he won the election, he would strive for interests of the overseas Chinese in the Netherlands and in the Europe with full drive and improve the relations between overseas Chinese and mainstream of the Netherlands.
