ONE OF THE FIVE PRODUCTION BASES OF CERAMICS
Zibo has a 6,000-year history of ceramics production, and is one of the five ceramics production bases in China, producing 430 million pieces of pottery and porcelain wares annually. Among them, 200 million pieces are exported overseas. Over 2,000 kinds of ceramic wares among 12 varieties, such as daily pottery wares, art pottery wares and garden pottery wares, find great favor of the customers both at home and abroad for their perfect craftsmanship, beautiful modeling and constant innovations. Ceramic carving, is becoming popular in Zibo. The artists work on ceramic products by diamond bits and small hammers, and then make pieces of handicraft articles which are treasures collectable by people throughout the world.
Colored glaze is another typical traditional product of Zibo. Several rare varieties have been produced on trial during recent years. What is most surprising and excellent is the inside-drawing art of Zibo. The glaze snuff bottle used in ancient time is made into exquisite art treasure through the artists\' drawing and decorating. This unique inside-drawing art of Zibo is so called "the Shandong Drawing School" by the International Snuff Bottle Association.
